The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hongtong comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

O Connor tries to bum rush Hongtong with a series of wild strikes but Hongtong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hongtong lands a slapping body shot.
Kob Khun Hongtong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Connor just misses with a punch to the body.

O Connor throws a lazy right hand but Hongtong sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The crowd cheers as Hongtong lands an impressive looking overhand right. O Connor doesn't seem phased though.

O Connor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hongtong manages to avoid it.
It looked like Hongtong was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from O Connor.
O Connor with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hongtong to score with a decent uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hongtong throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent O Connor stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hongtong was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Hongtong lands with an uppercut that bounces O Connor off the cage and back into range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
