The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winks ducks under a wild hook from Ape.
Winks gets a double leg takedown into Ape's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Winks postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ape is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Winks, into his guard.
Ape trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ape got a little sloppy there for a moment and Winks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ape has managed to get both his arms back between Winks's legs - danger averted.
Winks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Winks looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ape is defending well. Winks quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ape has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Winks celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
