Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brenon Conors (ranked 23347 p4p, 15489 weight class) and Kid James (ranked 191 p4p, 129 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brenon Conors!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kid James!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conors misses with a takedown
and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
James shoots in and drives through. Conors sprawls well.

Conors gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Conors wants to get back to his feet but James passes into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've been hearing good reports from Conors's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conors is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Conors's head.
James is figuring out what he wants to do next.

James is looking for a kimura but Conors is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage.
James looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
James thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Conors's head.

James postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Conors to stand up.
James darts in looking for a takedown but Conors gets double underhooks and turns James into the cage.
Conors has his takedown stuffed
and James counters with a left to the body.
James fails with a takedown attempt.
Brenon Conors has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kid James.

James feints and as Conors raises his hands in defense, James changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
James is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

James decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

James rushes Conors and presses him up against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on James - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

James jumps guard and drags Conors to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
James lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

James stands and throws Conors's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

James decides to stand back up. James steps back and let's Conors get back to his feet.
James fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Conors appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

James gets in close and instigates a clinch.
James lands a left hand that snaps the head of Conors backwards.
James has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Conors after a bit of a struggle.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kid James dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

James shoots for a takedown but Conors saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
James throws a series of strikes that have Conors backpedaling.
James shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice sprawl there from James as Conors shoots in.
Conors tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but James defends well and Conors ends up having to push James into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
James tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
James lands a head kick!
James shoots in but no luck this time.
Brenon Conors has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kid James.

James forces Conors back against the cage and clinches.

James breaks the clinch.
James paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
James fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Conors as he jumps to the side.

That's one minute gone in the round.

James closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Conors quickly recovers to half guard.
Kid James has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
James not doing much here.
Conors keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
James content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
James is continuing to stall.

James thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

James stands up from half guard.
James throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Conors.

Conors tries to sprawl but James drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

James thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
James slows the pace down in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kid James seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Conors gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows James to score an easy takedown into full guard.
James missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kid James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

James lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

James closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Conors gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from James.
James is trying to drag Conors to the mat but Conors just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
James lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

James stands and steps away. Conors gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

James wants a takedown but no success here.

James jumps guard and drags Conors to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
James seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conors in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Conors throws a big right hand that misses.
James looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Let's hope that James has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Conors working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Conors will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
James managing to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Conors takes a shot right to the bread basket.
James works the jab nicely.
Conors has his takedown stuffed
and James counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

James throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Conors tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. James is in Conors's guard.

Still in half guard, James seems content to control.
Brenon Conors has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kid James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kid James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

During a confident post fight interview, Kid James thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
