The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Hunter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Half Assed circles away quickly and effectively.
It seemed like Half Assed was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hunter closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Commie Hunter has been cut.
That kick from Half Assed tenderised Hunter's leg. Hunter is trying to keep his angry face on.
Half Assed is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hunter.

Half Assed walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Half Assed pushes Hunter back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Half Assed has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hunter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Commie Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anti Half Assed.
Half Assed bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Oh Hunter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hunter seems to have got his legs back now.
Hunter tests Half Assed's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hunter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Half Assed manages to avoid it.

Half Assed tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've been told by Hunter's head coaches at Tran MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Half Assed throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Hunter's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Half Assed dives in looking to finish as Hunter flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Half Assed's strikes! Half Assed is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Hunter's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Hunter was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Anti Half Assed decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
