Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Bessant (ranked 1140 p4p, 1984 weight class) and Clinch King Smash Machine (ranked 148 p4p, 251 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Bessant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Clinch King Smash Machine!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smash Machine tries to clinch there but Bessant circles away.
Smash Machine looks to land a right hand but Bessant moved out of range.
Bessant is looking to counter punch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smash Machine has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Smash Machine has managed to clinch.
Smash Machine with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Bessant managing to block the knees to the body from Smash Machine.
Smash Machine misses with an elbow strike.
Smash Machine landing knees to the body.
Smash Machine using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bessant has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Smash Machine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bessant walks away with a smile on his face. Smash Machine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bessant wants to break the clinch but can't.

Bessant takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Bessant drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Smash Machine moves into the clinch successfully.

It looks like John Bessant has been cut.
Bessant pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bessant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smash Machine is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Smash Machine scores with the left hand. Bessant knows he should have avoided that one.
Smash Machine with a lazy takedown attempt
and Bessant counters with a two punch combo.
Smash Machine tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bessant is able to avoid easily.
Smash Machine closes the distance and clinches up with Bessant, looking for a takedown. Smash Machine pushes Bessant against the cage but Bessant circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bessant fires out a quick counter leg kick but Smash Machine just manages to avoid it.
Bessant swats away the attempt to clinch by Smash Machine.
Smash Machine feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bessants jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Smash Machine digs a good body shot into Bessant's ribs.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bessant tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on John Bessant's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Bessant fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smash Machine manages to avoid it.
Smash Machine misses with a straight right.
An attempted straight right counter from Bessant misses the target.
Smash Machine throws a hook to the side of Bessant's head but Bessant sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bessant throws a low kick but Smash Machine avoids it.

Smash Machine pushes Bessant up against the cage in a clinch.

Smash Machine has Bessant pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bessant manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

It looked like Bessant was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Smash Machine.

Smash Machine looks to land a combination. Bessant sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Smash Machine drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bessant might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bessant parries the strikes from Smash Machine easily there. Smash Machine is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bessant to escape.
Smash Machine wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bessant, who protects the arm well.
Smash Machine advances nicely into full mount.
Smash Machine looking for a guillotine from mount but Bessant is having none of it.
Bessant is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smash Machine trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Bessant tries to control Smash Machine's body but Smash Machine pushes him off. Bessant squirms to his side and now Smash Machine has his back!
Smash Machine controlling well, preventing Bessant from escaping the position.

Smash Machine looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Bessant is defending well. Smash Machine quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Bessant has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Smash Machine celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Clinch King Smash Machine!
A less than humble Clinch King Smash Machine misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
