Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pharrel Dickinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Sauve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dickinson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Queen - The Show Must Go On. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Sauve!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sauve fails with a takedown attempt.
Sauve avoids a punch combination nicely.

Sauve closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sauve is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Sauve is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Dickinson has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Sauve looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sauve looks for a takedown but Dickinson sprawls well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dickinson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dickinson tries to stand but Sauve is controlling from the bottom.
Dickinson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Sauve is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Dickinson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dickinson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sauve wants to improve his position but Dickinson is controlling well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dickinson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sauve closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dickinson circles away.
Kyle Sauve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sauve moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Nice combo by Dickinson! Oh, that's hurt him - Sauve falls to the canvas and Dickinson follows him into side control.
Sauve is still in real trouble! Can Dickinson finish him?

Sauve seems to have recovered his senses.
Sauve looks to move to half guard but instead Dickinson has passed into mount! Damn!

Dickinson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dickinson stuffs the takedown attempt from Sauve. Sauve gets slowly back to his feet.
Dickinson throws a right hand that Sauve ducks under and follows up with a left that Sauve also avoids with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pharrel Dickinson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dickinson throws a right hand that Sauve ducks under and follows up with a left that Sauve also avoids with ease.

Sauve drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Sauve drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dickinson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sauve has Dickinson in his guard.

Dickinson is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Sauve slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Dickinson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sauve controls his leg.
Dickinson wants to take a breather but Sauve is having none of it.

Sauve is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Dickinson pulls his head out easily.

Sauve had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dickinson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sauve Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dickinson's back instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dickinson is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Dickinson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sauve can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
