The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Markkanen.
Markkanen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brunswick Jr moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Markkanen throws out a powerful jab.
Brunswick Jr misses with a few strikes there.
Markkanen fails to land with a series of punches.
Brunswick Jr half committed to a counter leg kick.
Markkanen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brunswick Jr pinned against the cage. Brunswick Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Markkanen cracks Brunswick Jr with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Markkanen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
