Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Victor Shaddix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Shaddix has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renzo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaddix throws a head kick that half lands.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Shaddix sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Shaddix is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.
Shaddix shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown. Shaddix fights it but they end up in guard.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shaddix manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Shaddix in his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shaddix is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shaddix looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shaddix looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shaddix!
Gracie looks gassed!
Shaddix tries to stand but Gracie is controlling his head.
Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Shaddix keeps moving and retains side control.
Gracie manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Shaddix tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gracie.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Shaddix tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gracie controls his leg.
Gracie manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shaddix wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shaddix's guard.
Gracie passes Shaddix's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Gracie moves nicely into side control.
