Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 3382 p4p, 3626 weight class) and Verney Lapierre (ranked 215 p4p, 234 weight class). Dux's entrance music is Bloodsport. A fine choice. Lapierre has chosen Sugar as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dux changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lapierre looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lapierre sneaks back into half guard.
Lapierre moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Dux distracts Lapierre with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Lapierre is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lapierre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dux doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dux manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dux will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dux really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dux lands a nice short elbow.
Dux drops an elbow to the side of Lapierre's head.

Dux postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lapierre looks a forlorn figure.

Dux has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dux cracks Lapierre with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Dux lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Lapierre is rocked!
Dux lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lapierre is still in real trouble! Can Dux finish him?
Dux postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Lapierre in real trouble here! The ref calls for Lapierre to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
