Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Leko (ranked 2095 p4p, 2677 weight class) and Saxon Byrd (ranked 265 p4p, 336 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexander Leko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saxon Byrd!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leko ducks right into an uppercut from Byrd.
Leko shoots in and bounces Byrd off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Byrd looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Leko looking to sit in guard and control but Byrd gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Byrd slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Leko tries to bench press Byrd off him but Byrd keeps the position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Leko cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Byrd is bucking up trying to escape but Leko cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Byrd is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Byrd leaves Leko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Leko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Byrd misses with a two punch combination.
Leko closes the distance and clinches up with Byrd, looking for a takedown. Leko pushes Byrd against the cage but Byrd circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Leko walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Byrd tries to sprawl but Leko drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Byrd manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Leko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Leko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Byrd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Saxon Byrd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab, jab by Byrd - just one landing.
Byrd lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A nice inside leg kick there by Byrd. That's going to slow Leko down.
Leko is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Byrd can do to turn this around?

Byrd stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Byrd wants it to stay on the feet.

Leko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action here.
Leko sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Byrd is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's time! Leko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Saxon Byrd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Byrd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
