Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Rockefeller (ranked 568 p4p, 1060 weight class) and Big Dog Gracie (ranked 81 p4p, 147 weight class). Gracie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Gang out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richard Rockefeller !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Big Dog Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Chris Dean and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockefeller swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rockefeller scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rockefeller swings widly with a right hand

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Rockefeller is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.
Rockefeller is not content to let Gracie control the position.
Rockefeller is looking to escape.
Gracie working Rockefeller over with strikes.
My spies in KingsJiuJitsuAcademy inform me that Gracie has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Rockefeller wants to get back to his feet.
Gracie is pressing down on Rockefeller 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rockefeller is holding on for now.

Rockefeller pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
Gracie trying to mount his opponent but Rockefeller defends it.

Rockefeller is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.
Rockefeller is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 88Fight Club Gym88.. 800pw (16 COACHES) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Rockefeller is controlling Gracie's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gracie wants to take a breather but Rockefeller is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A telegraphed right hand from Rockefeller misses the target.
And Gracie tries to counter it with a takedown but Rockefeller pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Rockefeller connects with a looping right hand.

Gracie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rockefeller .
Rockefeller misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rockefeller swivels and escapes.
Richard Rockefeller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Rockefeller throws a predictable looking body shot

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Rockefeller scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Gracie manages to mount him!
Rockefeller is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie trying to control but Rockefeller is having none of it.
Gracie looking to finish with strikes here!
Rockefeller holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gracie tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
A nice elbow there by Gracie.
Rockefeller regains half guard.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rockefeller with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rockefeller is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Gracie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rockefeller defending well though.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Rockefeller defends the submission attempt.
Gracie is keen to just control but Rockefeller is a slippery customer.
Gracie slows the pace down in half guard.
Rockefeller wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Big Dog Gracie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Rockefeller manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Rockefeller breaks the clinch.
Rockefeller lands with a right hand.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rockefeller circles away.
Rockefeller swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Nice takedown defense from Rockefeller . No joy for Gracie on that attempt.
Rockefeller fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rockefeller connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Rockefeller lands a nice shot to the body.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rockefeller .
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rockefeller defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Rockefeller into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rockefeller throwing a counter right hand but Gracie manages to avoid it.
Richard Rockefeller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Dog Gracie.
Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Rockefeller had a free shot at his head there.

Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Rockefeller .
Gracie takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Richard Rockefeller is winning the standup battle so far.
Rockefeller feints and then cracks Gracie's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gracie down.
Rockefeller connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Richard Rockefeller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rockefeller slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gracie moves out of range as Rockefeller strikes.
Nice shot lands for Rockefeller .
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rockefeller .

Rockefeller sends Gracie crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Rockefeller is motioning to the referee to let Gracie up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Gracie is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rockefeller thows a left - swing and a miss!
Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rockefeller as he avoids it easily.

Rockefeller lands a big right hand that sends Gracie crashing to the mat! Rockefeller stays standing though and waves Gracie back to his feet!
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Rockefeller finish him?
Gracie leaves his chin hanging out and Rockefeller seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Gracie crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Richard Rockefeller !
Richard Rockefeller decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
