And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Ruiz.

Winslow shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Winslow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Winslow has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ruiz finds it's way round the side to connect with Winslow's head.
Ruiz throws a sloppy head kick and Winslow moves out of range easily.

It looks like Ephraim Winslow has been cut.
Ruiz connects with a nice looking jab.

Ruiz stuns Winslow with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Ruiz forces Winslow back against the cage and clinches.
Ruiz lands a nice knee to the body.
Winslow misses with a hook from the clinch.
Ruiz wants to break the clinch but can't.

Winslow is trying to pull guard but Ruiz turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ruiz lands a knee to the head.
Ruiz connects with a nasty looking knee right to Winslow's face.

Winslow tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ruiz smiles and moves away.
Ruiz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ruiz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Winslow blocks a head kick by Ruiz.
Anthony Ruiz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Winslow tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ruiz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Anthony Ruiz seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Winslow gets a takedown into half guard.
Ruiz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Winslow uses his free foot to push down on Ruiz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ruiz.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Winslow content just to control the position here.

Winslow wants to finish this one by submission but Ruiz is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Winslow.

Winslow's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ruiz is in a horrible position here. Winslow smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Anthony Ruiz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Winslow is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ruiz!
Winslow takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee warns Ruiz that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Ruiz tries to control Winslow's body but Winslow pushes him off. Ruiz squirms to his side and now Winslow has his back!

Ruiz won't enjoy being in this position. Winslow looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Ruiz is tapping - it's over boys! Winslow picks up the submission victory!
