Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mika Heining!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Revere!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heining goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Revere tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heining sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Revere somewhat.
Revere gets a takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Revere connects with a nice short shot to Heining's temple.
Revere takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Revere working the head and body with strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heining trying to control but Revere postures up.
Revere looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Revere moves nicely into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Revere cracks Heining with a big elbow.
Heining is breathing heavily.
Revere works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Heining is rocked!
Revere scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Heining is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Revere can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
