Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrne loads up on a big right hand but Shaw slips the punch.
Byrne misses with a left hand

and Shaw counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Shaw tries to pass the half guard into mount. Byrne knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Shaw thows a huge punch but Byrne dodges it nicely.
Byrne is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Byrne is positioning himself well to prevent Shaw advancing to mount.
Shaw has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Byrne works his way to full guard. Good work.

Shaw controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Byrne is adopting a defensive guard.
Shaw wants to control from the top but Byrne keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Shaw decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters circling - Byrne throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Byrne feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Shaw crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Rajon Shaw spoke after the fight, saying 'Well I have one thing to say about my opponent great fight you did everything u were supposed to I let my guard down a bit but I want a rematch and I'm not taking no for a f*cking answer.'.
