PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Camble (ranked 852 p4p, 670 weight class) and Demetrius Jackson (ranked 119 p4p, 98 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Camble!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Demetrius Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camble throws a body shot but no joy.
Camble ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jackson moves away.
Camble connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jackson's hands.
A telegraphed right hand from Camble misses the target.
Jackson unleashes a big counter combination but Camble bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Jackson slips a straight right by Camble.
Despite the aggression on Jackson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Camble throws a hook but Jackson blocks it.
We've been told by Camble's head coaches at Rollins Fitness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Camble shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jackson eats them both and turns towards Camble to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Jackson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Camble throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Camble is in Jackson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Camble to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jackson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Camble bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Camble. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Camble is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jackson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jackson shrugs it off.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Camble, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
