PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kim Kitsu (ranked 4511 p4p, 4725 weight class) and Harnold Waclaw (ranked 277 p4p, 285 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kim Kitsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Harnold Waclaw!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ben Hemmingworth and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kitsu stuffs the takedown attempt from Waclaw. Waclaw gets slowly back to his feet.

Kitsu misses with a wild combination.
Waclaw leaves Kitsu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Waclaw sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Kitsu feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Waclaws jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Waclaw pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Waclaw looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kitsu passes Waclaw's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Waclaw has his hands clasped together around Kitsu's back. He's all about the action.
Waclaw is refusing to be controlled, as Kitsu sits in half guard.
Kitsu is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Waclaw is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kitsu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Waclaw has managed to free his arm - good work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kitsu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Waclaw's waist but Waclaw gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kitsu off to one side.
Waclaw fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kitsu appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Kitsu scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Kitsu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Waclaw manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kitsu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Waclaw sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kitsu somewhat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Waclaw dives in and grabs Kitsu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kitsu pushes down on Waclaw's head and hops out.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Waclaw gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kitsu drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kitsu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Waclaw defends well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Waclaw is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kitsu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Waclaw.
Waclaw walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kitsu.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kitsu. That's going to slow Waclaw down.
Kim Kitsu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Waclaw moves into the clinch successfully.
Waclaw wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kitsu has him pressed against the cage.

Kitsu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Waclaw uses from the top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Waclaw is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kitsu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Waclaw has Kitsu up against the cage in a clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kim Kitsu will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Waclaw clinches.

Kitsu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kitsu is defended easily by Waclaw.
Kitsu looks for a takedown but Waclaw sprawls well.
Kitsu takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kitsu throws a big counter combination but Waclaw scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Waclaw using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kitsu has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Harnold Waclaw seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Waclaw will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kitsu up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kitsu is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Waclaw to keep the fight standing.
Waclaw jumps guard but Kitsu stands there with Waclaw around his waist. Waclaw gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kitsu jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Waclaw walks away with a smile on his face. Kitsu gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kitsu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Waclaw.
Kitsu shoots in looking for a takedown. Waclaw tries to sprawl out of it but Kitsu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Waclaw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Harnold Waclaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kitsu has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
