PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Panda One (ranked 3635 p4p, 4369 weight class) and Antonio Bertarelli (ranked 483 p4p, 543 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Bertarelli!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bertarelli moves away.
One shoots in but no luck this time.
Bertarelli is clearly trying to counter these attacks from One with a body shot.
Bertarelli just misses with a punch to the body.
One scores with a shot to the body.

One clinches.
One tries a body shot but Bertarelli blocks it.
Bertarelli wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but One has him pressed against the cage.
Bertarelli is trying to force a seperation but One has the dominant position.

One manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

One looking for a guillotine here but Bertarelli defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

One is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

One working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bertarelli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bertarelli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

One is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

One isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bertarelli stacks One on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bertarelli!
One tries to buck Bertarelli off but Bertarelli is having none of it.
One manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
One takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bertarelli felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

One is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bertarelli defends it well.

One tries to control but Bertarelli wriggling away.

One has control of Bertarelli's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bertarelli regains control of the situation pretty easily.
