Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keith Rodgers (ranked 1086 p4p, 1156 weight class) and Scooter Bob (ranked 145 p4p, 153 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rodgers might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Blue Flowers - Doctor Octagon . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keith Rodgers !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scooter Bob!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Rodgers misses with a body shot.

Bob has Rodgers up against the cage in a clinch.
Bob looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bob tries for a takedown. No joy.

Bob breaks from the clinch.
Bob avoids the body shot from Rodgers .
Rodgers scoring well with a low kick there.
Bob shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rodgers sprawls well. Rodgers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bob shoots for a takedown but Rodgers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bob tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rodgers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bob somewhat.

Rodgers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rodgers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bob's guard.

Rodgers passes Bob's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Bob has hold of Rodgers 's hands but Rodgers slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rodgers is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bob is controlling Rodgers 's trapped leg to prevent Rodgers from advancing to side control.
Rodgers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Bob is trying to get back to full guard.
Keith Rodgers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rodgers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bob keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Rodgers motions for Bob to come forward. Rodgers throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Rodgers moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looked like Rodgers was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Bob sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Bob fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rodgers lands with a right hand.
Rodgers misses with a wild combination.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rodgers throws a push kick but Bob slaps the foot to one side.
Scooter Bob has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Rodgers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
