PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iago Farfan (ranked 6652 p4p, 5815 weight class) and Pancadao Trevoso (ranked 697 p4p, 638 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iago Farfan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pancadao Trevoso!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farfan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Trevoso tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Farfan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Trevoso moves to clinch but Farfan breaks away
and Farfan counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Trevoso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Farfan's waist but Farfan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trevoso off to one side.
A big left from Farfan misses.
Trevoso looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Trevoso wants to clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Farfan presses Trevoso against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Farfan tries a body shot but Trevoso blocks it.
Farfan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Farfan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Farfan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Farfan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Trevoso.
An attempted straight right counter from Farfan misses the target.
We've been told by Farfan's head coaches at The Rubber Guard Emporium that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Trevoso takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Trevoso tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Farfan thows a left - swing and a miss!
Trevoso was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Pancadao Trevoso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trevoso walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Farfan swats away the attempt to clinch by Trevoso.

Farfan drops Trevoso with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Trevoso looks back up at him and smiles so Farfan waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Farfan is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Trevoso flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Trevoso is out cold! Farfan holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
