Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phillip McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josey Wales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Josey Wales!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wales throws a lazy right hand but McGee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Phillip McGee will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wales can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wales is just riding it out for now. McGee eventually gives up the hold.

Wales flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wales throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McGee's waist but McGee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wales off to one side.

Wales has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wales is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but Phillip McGee did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

Wales has hold of McGee's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McGee manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
