Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Markus Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Young I (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Markus Warren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gerald Young I!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warren tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Young I paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Warren tries to clinch up.
Gerald Young I seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young I swats away the attempt to clinch by Warren.
Warren tries for a takedown but Young I sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Young I misses with a takedown

and Warren counters by moving into the clinch.
Young I has had enough of the clinch but Warren keeps him there for the moment.
Young I is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Young I on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Young I wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Young I lands a hook that snaps the head of Warren backwards.
Warren landing some nice looking knees to the body.
With the fighters up against the cage, Warren throws an elbow but misses.
Warren changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Young I fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Warren counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Markus Warren has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Young I.
Young I looking to stall.
Warren looking to throw knees to the head but Young I is blocking nicely.
Young I managing to block the knees to the body from Warren.

Warren breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Young I swats away the attempt to clinch by Warren.

Young I throws a sloppy head kick

and Warren counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Young I wants to improve his position but Warren is controlling well.
Warren seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Young I does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Young I throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Young I is trying to maintain the position but Warren is very close to passing his half guard.
Warren stops Young I from getting back to his feet.
Young I keeping control of the position.

Young I is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Young I keeps the fight on the outside.

Young I gets the takedown into side control.

Warren is looking for a sweep.
Young I tries to advance to mount but Warren denies him.
Young I wants to stand but Warren is controlling his arm.
Warren regains half guard there - taking advantage of Young I's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Young I thows a huge punch but Warren dodges it nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Warren avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Young I.

Young I seems to be working for a kimura but Warren defends the submission attempt.
Young I trying to control the action but Warren is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Warren fails with an attempt to clinch.

Young I scores a takedown into full mount!
Young I looking to finish with strikes here!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Markus Warren dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Young I tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Warren swivels and escapes.

Young I closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Young I wants to control but Warren is keeping him busy.
Warren tries to buck Young I off but Young I is having none of it.
Warren on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Warren tries to get out of the position.
Warren is trying to control Young I's posture but Young I avoids it.
Young I scoring with punches from side control.
Young I trying to control the action but Warren is working from the bottom.

Young I swings around for an armbar but Warren sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Young I's guard.
Warren passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Young I is looking to improve his position.
Young I is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Young I trying to control but Warren postures up.
Young I preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Young I wants to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Young I fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Warren sprawls well initially but Young I persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Young I stalling away here and it's allowed Warren to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young I trying to control but Warren is working from the bottom.
Warren looking to control.

Warren throwing short punches from the bottom.
Young I really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Warren. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Young I distracts Warren with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Warren throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Young I loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Young I trying to control but Warren is working from the bottom.
Young I looking to sit in guard and control but Warren gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Young I working a defensive guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gerald Young I showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Warren gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Young I throws and elbow that misses. Warren uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Young I's guard. Nice move by Warren!
Young I tries to strike from the bottom.
Gerald Young I has got the better of the ground game so far.
Warren stopping the sweep attempt from Young I.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Warren accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Young I looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Young I looking to control but Warren passes into half guard.

Warren is looking for a kimura but Young I is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Warren to get the leverage.
Warren stops Young I from getting back to his feet.
Young I pushes Warren off but Warren dives into side control.
Young I trying to control but Warren flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Warren landing with strikes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Young I trying to control the action but Warren just sinks the hooks in.
Warren punishes Young I with strikes from the back mount.
Young I can't escape the position.
Young I wants to control his opponent's hands but Warren gets his hands free.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Warren controlling the positon.
Warren lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Young I trying to control but not successfully.
Young I is trying to break free.
Warren will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Warren scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Young I is looking for a way out.
Warren throwing damaging strikes from the back! Young I could be in trouble here!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Young I wants to escape the position.
Warren is not going to allow Young I to sit and survive in this position.
Warren doesn't have the hooks in and Young I manages to turn into his guard.

Young I drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Warren manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Young I has Warren in his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Warren with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Markus Warren showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Warren has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
