Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yip Man Iii (ranked 647 p4p, 810 weight class) and Damian Tonon (ranked 90 p4p, 112 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damian Tonon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tonon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Man Iii counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Tonon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Tonon has gone for a leg lock! Man Iii slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tonon's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tonon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Man Iii doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Man Iii manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tonon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Man Iii defends it easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Tonon goes for a double leg but Man Iii avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Man Iii continues to drive forward.

As Tonon backs away, Man Iii returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Tonon tries to clinch but Man Iii is having none of it.

Man Iii appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Tonon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Man Iii looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Man Iii feints and then cracks Tonon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tonon down.

Man Iii gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tonon to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Man Iii has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tonon is proving hard to escape from.
Our spies down at at High Kicks inform us that Tonon has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
