PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Judah Nagkta (ranked 4726 p4p, 4770 weight class) and Lars Bogs (ranked 543 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Judah Nagkta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lars Bogs!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagkta throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bogs stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nagkta enables Bogs to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nagkta manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nagkta is controlling Bogs's posture.

Bogs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nagkta has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bogs has managed to get both his arms back between Nagkta's legs - danger averted.
Nagkta on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nagkta tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nagkta lands a really nice looking cross but Bogs seems unphased.

and Nagkta counters with a left and a right that stings Bogs.

Bogs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nagkta's waist but Nagkta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bogs off to one side.
Nagkta comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Bogs drives through and clinches with Nagkta against the cage.
Bogs creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Nagkta's defenses.

It looks like Judah Nagkta has been cut.

Nagkta is trying to pull guard but Bogs turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Bogs turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bogs manages to end up in side control.
Nagkta tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bogs easily slips into full mount!
Nagkta is desperately trying to improve his position but Bogs has a good base and remains in mount.

Bogs stands up from mount. Strange move.
Nagkta stuns Bogs with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nagkta connects with a crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nagkta slaps away a takedown attempt from Bogs, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Judah Nagkta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lars Bogs.

That was a close round but I would say that Judah Nagkta will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bogs dives in for a single leg takedown but Nagkta sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nagkta takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bogs has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bogs there as he acknowledges the shot.

Bogs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nagkta!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bogs moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Nagkta has worked his arm free - good work by Nagkta!

Lars Bogs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Bogs throws a right hand that misses
and Nagkta counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nagkta's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bogs under the eye.
Bogs walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Bogs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nagkta swings for the body but Bogs moves out of range.
Bogs wants to counter with a clinch but Nagkta pushes him away.

Bogs darts in looking for a takedown but Nagkta gets double underhooks and turns Bogs into the cage.

Bogs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nagkta's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bogs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bogs moves into full mount! Nagkta won't be happy about that!
Nagkta is looking to improve his position but Bogs isn't that keen on the idea.
Nagkta bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Nagkta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bogs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nagkta drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bogs manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nagkta has Bogs in his guard.

Bogs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nagkta's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

I would just about give that final round to Lars Bogs.
