The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turles changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Koalani looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Turles is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Koalani is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Turles asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Turles working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Turles thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koalani wants to get back to his feet but Turles is dominant here and he's now got Koalani's back!

Koalani is trying to defend against the choke here but Turles has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Turles Tightens the hold and Koalani taps out furiously! Turles displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
