The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zambrano swings for the body but Parker moves out of range.
Parker lands a lovely overhand right.

Parker closes the distance and pushes Zambrano back into the cage.

Zambrano is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Parker defends well.

Zambrano had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parker defends it easily.

Zambrano bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Parker's guard.

Zambrano told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parker's corner calls for a 1-2. Parker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Zambrano sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

After the fight, Darwin Zambrano was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
