Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vinicius Verreira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Royal Savage!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savage gets tackled into the cage by Verreira. Verreira maintains the clinch.

Verreira's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Verreira moves into the clinch successfully.
Verreira tries to throw a body punch but Savage avoids it by throwing Verreira back against the cage.

Verreira breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Verreira cracks Savage with a good jab.
Verreira misses with a takedown attempt - Savage sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Verreira moves into the clinch successfully.

Verreira's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Savage thuds a left hand into Verreira's body.
Savage fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Savage tests Verreira's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Verreira has closed the distance and engaged Savage in a clinch.
Verreira is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Savage pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Savage wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Verreira tries a body shot but Savage blocks it.
Savage looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Verreira turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Verreira manages to end up in side control.

Verreira seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Savage for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Verreira is looking to take a break and control but Savage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Savage seems a little lost for a moment, as Verreira dominates the positioning.
Savage gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
We've been hearing that Verreira has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Verreira takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Verreira has control of Savage's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Savage regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Verreira sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Verreira can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Savage is looking to escape.

Verreira working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Savage turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Verreira off and cradles Savage's limp body as Verreira celebrates with his corner.
