Thompson comes to the cage accompanied by Yo Yo Scrape by Skinny Puppy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch but Thompson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
No joy there for Wallace, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wallace throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thompson.
Some wild striking there from Wallace.
Thompson slips a jab and a cross from Wallace.
Wallace looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wallace misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wallace but Wallace pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wallace throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thompson on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Wallace looks to land a right hand but Thompson moved out of range.
Thompson dodges the punch combination from Wallace.

Barret Wallace is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thompson shoots in but no luck this time.

Thompson shoots in looking for a takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl out of it but Thompson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wallace manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wallace swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wallace throws a series of punches but Thompson moves out of range.
Wallace throws a right and a left that both miss.

Thompson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wallace to the mat! Wallace manages to get full guard.
Thompson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Wallace is wriggling around but Thompson manages to pass to half guard.

Thompson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Wallace is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
