The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kisei misses with an attempted mid kick.

Kisei's coach down at Cope's was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kisei's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Corleone Jr. stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Corleone Jr. wants it to stay on the feet.

Corleone Jr. fires out a quick counter leg kick but Kisei just manages to avoid it.
Kisei shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Corleone Jr. pinned against the cage. Corleone Jr. gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And Corleone Jr. counters with a quick kick to the body but Kisei blocks it.

and Corleone Jr. counters with a thumping low kick.
Kisei's jab looks to have found its range, popping Corleone Jr. under the eye.

Kisei tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Corleone Jr. defends well and Kisei ends up having to push Corleone Jr. into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Corleone Jr. counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Kisei closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kisei lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kisei wants to control from the top but Corleone Jr. keeps moving.
Kisei controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kisei would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Kisei postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Corleone Jr. is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kisei, into his guard.

Corleone Jr. stays in close to Kisei's body and controls the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sonny Corleone Jr. will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
