Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Mondell (ranked 5744 p4p, 6295 weight class) and Andy Shearer (ranked 632 p4p, 665 weight class). Mondell comes to the ring accompanied by Snoop Dogg Feat Nate Dogg, Warren G - Im Fly. Shearer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Coming Home Newcastle. Gordon Mondell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordon Mondell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondell wants to clinch but Shearer slips to the side
and Mondell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mondell takes the fight into the clinch.
Shearer wants to break free but Mondell has control.
Mondell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shearer walks away with a smile on his face. Mondell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Shearer counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Shearer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gordon Mondell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mondell closes the distance and pushes Shearer back into the ropes.

Mondell tightens his grip and picks Shearer up, before dumping him to the ground. Shearer manages to land in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shearer is looking to stand up but Mondell isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Mondell pushing down on Shearer's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Mondell wants to work for an arm triangle but Shearer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mondell tries to pass to full mount but Shearer defends it.
Mondell is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shearer!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Mondell working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Shearer turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Mondell off and cradles Shearer's limp body as Mondell celebrates with his corner.
