The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Boy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Boy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but The Russian Giant swivels and escapes.
Boy tries a head kick but it misses.
The Russian Giant is looking for a counter combo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Boy.

The Russian Giant shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boy's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boy looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Russian Giant is one step ahead there.
Boy wants to stand and escape but The Russian Giant is having none of it.

Boy is working an open guard so The Russian Giant takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The Russian Giant fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Boy has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The Russian Giant moves into the clinch successfully.
Boy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The Russian Giant just stands there and leans against the cage.
Konstantin The Russian Giant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Boy.
The Russian Giant can't get the takedown.
Boy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Boy is looking to work some ground and pound but The Russian Giant has wrist control.

Boy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but The Russian Giant manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Boy has The Russian Giant in his guard.

The Russian Giant got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, The Russian Giant has managed to get both his arms back between Boy's legs - danger averted.

Boy has momentary wrist control but The Russian Giant slips an elbow through the middle.
The Russian Giant wants to control from the top but Boy keeps moving.
The Russian Giant wanted to stand there but Boy had control of the position.
Boy is trying to control the position but The Russian Giant postures up.
The Russian Giant works over Boy with some ground and pound from guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The Russian Giant stops Boy from standing up.
Boy trying to strike off his back.
The Russian Giant seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The Russian Giant gets the takedown into side control.

Boy explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Boy fails in his attempt to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The Russian Giant takes the fight into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on The Russian Giant - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Boy with a poor takedown
and The Russian Giant makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Boy tries to clinch but The Russian Giant is having none of it.
As Boy tries to get set, The Russian Giant tries to push him back and clinch up but Boy manages to avoid the attempt.
Boy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A combination from The Russian Giant does no damage.

It looks like Johnny Boy has been cut.
The Russian Giant misses with a two punch combination.
Boy shoots for a takedown but The Russian Giant saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Boy avoids the head kick by The Russian Giant.

Boy darts in looking for a takedown but The Russian Giant gets double underhooks and turns Boy into the cage.

Boy is breathing heavily.
Crunch! The Russian Giant slams his shin into Boy's torso.
A head kick by The Russian Giant - that's a beauty! Boy is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even The Russian Giant can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
