A fine choice. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wheeler lands a slapping body shot.
Wheeler with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Wheeler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Diaz was well out of range. Poor timing from Wheeler.
Wheeler stuns Diaz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Wheeler avoids the head kick by Diaz.
Wheeler changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Rip Wheeler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wheeler lands a nice shot to the body.
Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.
A countering left hand to the body from Wheeler misses.
Wheeler blocks a head kick by Diaz.
Wheeler fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Nathan Diaz has been cut.
Diaz throws a front kick aimed at Wheeler's knee but Wheeler avoids it well.
Wheeler lands a nice shot that snaps Diaz's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wheeler stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wheeler lunges at Diaz with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Diaz's hand.

Diaz is rocked!
Wheeler cracks Diaz with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Diaz is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Diaz is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Diaz could not beat the count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Rip Wheeler!
During a confident post fight interview, Rip Wheeler thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
