Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Carter (ranked 1215 p4p, 1440 weight class) and Dimitri Svyatogor (ranked 37 p4p, 42 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitri Svyatogor!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter ducks under a wild hook from Svyatogor.
A slow jab from Svyatogor misses its intended target.
Carter appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carter tries to clinch up
and Carter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Carter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tran MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Carter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Svyatogor but Svyatogor pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Svyatogor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jason Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Svyatogor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Svyatogor swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter.
Svyatogor connects with a looping right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter wants to clinch.
Svyatogor stuffs the takedown attempt from Carter. Carter gets slowly back to his feet.
Svyatogor swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Carter shoots in looking for a takedown but Svyatogor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Carter's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Svyatogor connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Carter scrambles back to his feet.
Svyatogor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Svyatogor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carter.

and Svyatogor counters with a one-two to the body.
Carter shoots in for a takedown but Svyatogor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Good exchange - Svyatogor coming out on top.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Svyatogor dips to his left and cracks Carter with an uppercut!
Svyatogor is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Svyatogor! But no joy.
Svyatogor lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Svyatogor throws a hook but Carter blocks it.
Svyatogor throws out a loose jab but Carter uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carter has taken the fight to the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Svyatogor throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Svyatogor gets through Carter's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Carter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Svyatogor fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Svyatogor connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
