The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peppers swats away the attempt to clinch by Mendes.
Mendes shoots in but no luck this time.
Peppers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mendes wants to clinch.
Peppers lands with a slapping head kick.
Mendes tries for a takedown but Peppers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Peppers lands a nice looking kick to the body. Mendes takes a step back to recover.
Mendes misses with a wild body shot.
Mendes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mendes tries to clinch but Peppers is having none of it.
Peppers stuffs the takedown attempt from Mendes. Mendes gets slowly back to his feet.
Brian Peppers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Mendes.

Mendes shoots for a double leg takedown but Peppers sprawls well. He's pushed Mendes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Peppers throws a head kick that Mendes semi-blocks.

Peppers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mendes is still on wobbly legs! Can Peppers finish him?
Peppers misses with a head kick.
