Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kai Kona (ranked 816 p4p, 1342 weight class) and Rex Gunn (ranked 97 p4p, 152 weight class). Kona comes into the arena with This Is War. Anti Nowhere League blaring out of the sound system. Kai Kona has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn misses with an uppercut.
Gunn throws a hook but Kona avoids it easily.
Kona throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gunn on the side of the head.
Gunn slips under a jab.
Kona fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Gunn misses with an uppercut. Kona saw that one coming.
Kona tries a head kick but it misses.
Gunn moves away from the strike by Kona.
Kona lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

As Gunn looks to move away, Kona throws a big counter combo but Gunn just gets out of the way.

Gunn takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kona turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Gunn might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kona darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Kona shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Gunn takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gunn takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kona slips a jab from Gunn.
Gunn with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kona to score with a decent uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A bone on bone clash there as Gunn blocks the leg kick.
Gunn walks into a straight right hand from Kona.

Kona throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Crunch! Kona slams his shin into Gunn's torso.
Gunn throws a jab but it's blocked by Kona.
Kona lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Gunn looks to land a left hand but Kona moved out of range nicely.
Gunn takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gunn's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
No joy there for Gunn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kona steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunn.
Gunn lands with a hook. Kona tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kona works the jab nicely.
Kona shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Gunn looks like he wants to counter punch here.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kona lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gunn's sensitive parts.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kai Kona dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gunn scores with a jab to the jaw.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Gunn might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kona has got the better of the exchanges.

Kona wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gunn drops Kona with a straight right hand, right on the button! Gunn follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
