PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Carlotos Spiteri (ranked 23006 p4p, 19670 weight class) and Berto Kin (ranked 712 p4p, 750 weight class). Spiteri kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Day to day basis. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlotos Spiteri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Berto Kin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiteri scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The fighters circling - Kin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Spiteri thinks about countering with a body kick.
Kin throws a leg kick

and Spiteri counters with a really nice, stiff jab that drops Kin onto his ass. He'll have to take the mandatory count from the referee but he's back on his feet and he seems OK to continue.

Kin is rocked!
Kin throws a nice looking combination but Spiteri bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A chopping leg kick lands by Spiteri.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kin is still on wobbly legs! Can Spiteri finish him?
Spiteri misses the shot to the body.
Kin seems to have recovered his senses.
Kin throws a right and a left that Spiteri avoids nicely.
Kin takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Spiteri clinches up against the ropes.
Our sources have told us that Spiteri has been working on his elbows in the gym.
A nice right hand lands inside from Spiteri.
Spiteri lands a hook to the side of the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Spiteri.
With the fighters up against the ropes, Spiteri throws an elbow but misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kin prevents a body shot from Spiteri.
Spiteri lands a left hand.

Spiteri creates a bit of space and cracks Kin with an uppercut that drops him to the canvas! Kin is wobbled and seems to be struggling to get back to his feet. 3,4,5. He's up! Phew, his manager will be relieved but they're no doubt wondering whether he'll be able to recover properly and get back in the fight!
Sloppy strikes from Kin. Those never looked like landing.
Spiteri circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Kin tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Spiteri wins by KO!
