Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Blancho (ranked 3505 p4p, 4411 weight class) and Nikolai Yan (ranked 432 p4p, 148 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blancho tries for a takedown but Yan circles away easily
and Yan counters with a series of strikes. Blancho will be more careful next time no doubt.

Blancho tries to work over Yan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Yan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Blancho is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yan pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Blancho is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Yan can't fight it off and eventually Blancho manages to take the fight to the floor. Yan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Yan is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Blancho presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Yan is trying to trip Blancho. He has hold of a leg but Blancho is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Yan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Yan throws an elbow that misses. Blancho uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yan's guard. Nice move by Blancho!

Yan is trying to control the position but Blancho postures up.

Blancho is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Blancho lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

It looks like Nikolai Yan has been cut.
Blancho throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Yan is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Blancho jumps into side control!
