Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Willis Smith (ranked 3211 p4p, 5089 weight class) and Daniel Doober (ranked 399 p4p, 547 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doober throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Doober has time to react.

It looks like Daniel Doober has been cut.
Willis Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Doober appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Smith misses with a double jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Doober! But no joy.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Doober counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Doober dodges the punch combination from Smith.
Smith looks to land a right hand but Doober moved out of range.

Smith throws a chopping leg kick but Doober manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Doober throws out a counter right but Smith avoids it with no problem.
A telegraphed right hand from Smith misses the target.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smith.
Doober throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head.

Doober smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Smith throws a hook but Doober blocks it.
Doober jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Doober looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
A punch lands to the side of Smith 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Doober is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Smith had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

and Doober counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've been informed that Doober has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Doober connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Smith is rocked!
Doober ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Smith out cold! The fight is over!
