Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Knight (ranked 3548 p4p, 5437 weight class) and John Red (ranked 460 p4p, 618 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Red!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ron Honeybunn and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Red throws a sloppy head kick and Knight moves out of range easily.
Knight tries to clinch
and Red counters with a one-two to the body.

Red has Knight up against the cage in a clinch.
Red is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Knight is defending well.
A short uppercut from Knight.
Red has Knight pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Knight manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Knight stops a takedown attempt from Red.
Jack Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Red.
Red is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Knight gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Red just leaning against Knight, taking a breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Knight is trying to trip Red. He has hold of a leg but Red is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Knight persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Red is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Knight engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Knight tries to free his leg and advance position but Red is retaining full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Knight is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Red keeping full guard, as Knight tries to pass.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Red shoots in for a takedown but Knight shows good takedown defense.
Knight uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Red.
Red throws a right and a left that both miss.
Red throws a nice looking combination but Knight bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Red gets a clinch.
Red has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Knight after a bit of a struggle.

Red is fighting off a takedown attempt but Knight is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Red to the mat. Red regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Knight is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knight wanted to stand there but Red had control of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knight tries to free his leg and advance position but Red is retaining full guard.
Knight is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Red seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Knight slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Red is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Knight defends well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
John Red seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Red.
Red misses with a leg kick

and Knight counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Knight wants to free his trapped foot but Red is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Red trying to hold on to Knight's head to control him but Knight postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Red moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Knight will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Red dives in for a single leg takedown but Knight sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A quick step to the side and Knight tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Red closes the distance and clinches.
Knight has Red pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Red manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Knight is trying to drag Red to the mat but Red just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Red tries to score a body lock takedown but Knight shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Red misses with a knee strike.

Red manages to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Red working for a triangle but Knight defends it easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Red is on top in guard.

Red stopping the sweep attempt from Knight.
Jack Knight overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Knight throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
Knight has Red pulled in close to control his posture.
Knight avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Knight is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Knight takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Red tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Knight just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jack Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Red.
Knight has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Red after a bit of a struggle.

Red breaks the clinch.
Red tries to clinch up but Knight circles away and keeps his distance.
It looked like Knight was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Knight throws a series of punches but Red avoids them all with ease.

Red gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Red jumps guard but Knight turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Knight goes for a takedown attempt but Red pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Red darts in and clinches Knight up against the cage.

Knight avoiding damage.
Knight looking for a takedown.

Knight gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Red is looking to control Knight's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Red avoid being mounted?
Knight seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Red is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knight wants to free his trapped foot but Red is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Knight is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Red is pressing down on Knight's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Red has his foot on Knight's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Knight works his way back into a safe position though.

Knight got a little sloppy there for a moment and Red has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knight has managed to get both his arms back between Red's legs - danger averted.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Red closes the distance and clinches.
Knight prevents a takedown attempt there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but John Red will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Knight looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Red is fending him off so far but Knight persists. Nope, Red circles away and we're back to standing.

Red has Knight up against the cage in a clinch.
Red tries for a takedown. No joy.
Knight prevents Red from breaking the clinch.
Red tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Knight has Red pressed against the cage, preventing Red from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Red pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Red tries to clinch
and Knight counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Red thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Red tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Knight darts in looking for a takedown but Red gets double underhooks and turns Knight into the cage.
Knight tries for a takedown but Red manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Knight. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Knight changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Red fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Knight leaves Red with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Red takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Knight tries to score a power double leg takedown but Red sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Knight somewhat.
Red changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Knight tries to avoid it but Red manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Knight to the ground. Knight escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Knight leaves Red with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Knight throws a big counter combination but Red scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Red fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown attempt by Knight or perhaps it was just good defense by Red, which made it look bad.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Knight.

Red forces Knight back against the cage and clinches.
Knight has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Red is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Red jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Knight walks away with a smile on his face. Red gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Red stuffs the takedown.
Knight shoots in for a takedown but Red shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Red misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knight is defended easily by Red.
The fight stays on the outside here - Red looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Knight feinted with a counter takedown.
Knight shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Red sprawls well. Red wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Knight gets slowly back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Knight avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Red will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Knight fails to land the takedown.
Red lands a high kick!

Red instigates a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Red is looking to break free of the clinch but Knight has double underhooks.

Red pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Red is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Knight drops down looking for a counter takedown but Red sprawls and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Red comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Red has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
