Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Thomas (ranked 1250 p4p, 594 weight class) and Derwent Bolt (ranked 170 p4p, 85 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by LUNIZ -- I GOT 5 ON IT. Derwent Bolt is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derwent Bolt!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas blocks a jab.

Bolt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Thomas is looking to escape.
Bolt stalling.
Bolt stops Thomas from getting back to his feet.
Bolt keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas tries to kick Bolt off but Bolt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bolt passes to side control.
Thomas is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bolt has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Thomas trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Thomas throws Bolt to one side and escapes!
Patrick Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bolt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bolt fails with the takedown
and Bolt takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Thomas has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Randall's Top Team in the buildup to the fight.

Bolt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Thomas pushes Bolt away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bolt gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Thomas bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thomas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thomas wants it to stay on the feet.
Bolt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Patrick Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derwent Bolt.

Bolt is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Thomas's half guard.

Thomas manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bolt keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Thomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Thomas on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bolt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bolt shoots in for a double leg but Thomas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Bolt takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bolt fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bolt misses with an uppercut
and Thomas scores with a counter punch that sends Bolt to the canvas! Thomas smells blood - he's punishing Bolt with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Bolt has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
