Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuo Kayaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KJ Schofield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schofield has chosen hollyhood vacation as his entrance music. KJ Schofield has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Kayaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, KJ Schofield!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kayaku bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kayaku working away.
Kayaku works to advance to full mount. Schofield defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Kayaku content just to control the position here.

Kayaku has hold of Schofield's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Schofield manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Schofield really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Kayaku jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Schofield manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Kayaku wants to control but Schofield is keeping him busy.

You can see the frustration on Schofield's face as Kayaku controls the position.
Kayaku lands a decent elbow from side control.

Kayaku working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Schofield tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Schofield is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kayaku wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schofield keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kayaku takes a little break here. Schofield wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Schofield tries to bench press Kayaku off him but Kayaku keeps the position.
Kayaku tries to move into full mount but can't pass Schofield's legs.
Schofield tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Schofield throws a right and a left that both miss.

Kayaku shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kayaku showed some decent athleticism there.
Kayaku is keen to just control but Schofield is a slippery customer.
Kayaku is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Kayaku is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kayaku passes the guard and advances to mount!
Schofield is desperately trying to improve his position but Kayaku has a good base and remains in mount.
Schofield holds on, trying desperately to control.
Kayaku sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Kayaku working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kayaku is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Schofield is in real trouble.
Kayaku throwing wild punches that miss their target.

Kayaku is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Schofield defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Schofield trying to control the action but Kayaku just sinks the hooks in.
Schofield tries to escape but Kayaku has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tetsuo Kayaku dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Schofield throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Schofield pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kayaku shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kayaku trying to control but Schofield is working from the bottom.
Schofield looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kayaku is one step ahead there.
Schofield lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kayaku!
Kayaku gets back to half guard.
Schofield is breathing heavily.

Schofield looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kayaku moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kayaku bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Schofield's guard.

Kayaku slips nicely into half guard.

Kayaku is looking for a kimura here.
Kayaku is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kayaku seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Schofield for as long as he can get away with.

Kayaku is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Schofield sees it coming and defends easily.
Schofield is not content to let Kayaku control the position.
Kayaku takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Kayaku is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Schofield is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kayaku looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kayaku is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schofield defends it well.

Kayaku passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Schofield!

Kayaku with a couple of short strikes.

Kayaku throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Schofield has his hands clasped together but Kayaku breaks the hold and Schofield is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Kayaku!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tetsuo Kayaku!
