PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Crixus The Gaul (ranked 1437 p4p, 1582 weight class) and Eric Dungey (ranked 191 p4p, 210 weight class). Eric Dungey told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dungey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A nice side step and Dungey releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Dungey uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The Gaul.
The Gaul throws an overhand right that lands on Dungey's shoulder, as Dungey tries to avoid the shot.
Dungey replies with a solid counter kick to the body but The Gaul blocks it well.
The Gaul throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The Gaul looks to land a right hand but Dungey moved out of range.
Dungey lands with a good body shot.
Dungey on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The Gaul definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The Gaul connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dungey's hands.

Dungey uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from The Gaul.

The Gaul cracks Dungey with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A combination from The Gaul does no damage.
A little jabbing left from Dungey on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
The Gaul is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dungey.
Crixus The Gaul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Dungey counters with a nice right hand that sends The Gaul toppling to the canvas! The Gaul scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Dungey finish him?!
The Gaul throws a hook but Dungey avoids it easily.
Dungey doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
A punch combination from The Gaul misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dungey! But no joy.

and Dungey counters with a crisp one two that drops The Gaul! Dungey thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves The Gaul to his feet! The Gaul is in big trouble!

and Dungey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Oh The Gaul is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dungey changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
