PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitali Kersikov I I (ranked 1614 p4p, 2208 weight class) and James Rocksteady (ranked 217 p4p, 297 weight class). Kersikov I I comes to the cage accompanied by Sefa & Mr. Ivex - LSD Problem. Rocksteady has chosen Red Right Hand as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Vitali Kersikov I I has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vitali Kersikov I I seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vitali Kersikov I I!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Rocksteady!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Kersikov I I misses.

Vitali Kersikov I I seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rocksteady scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rocksteady closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kersikov I I quickly recovers to half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vitali Kersikov I I will probably get the nod.

Rocksteady will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kersikov I I fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rocksteady manages to avoid it.
And Rocksteady tries to counter it with a takedown but Kersikov I I pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Rocksteady takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Rocksteady shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kersikov I I lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kersikov I I is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
