Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sho Monsuta (ranked 5141 p4p, 19198 weight class) and Krzysztof Zakrzewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sho Monsuta could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Krzysztof Zakrzewski's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krzysztof Zakrzewski!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monsuta goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Zakrzewski looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Zakrzewski tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Zakrzewski felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Monsuta has the hooks in. Zakrzewski is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Zakrzewski is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Monsuta gets his way!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Zakrzewski is really stuck here.

Monsuta is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Zakrzewski has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Monsuta has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Zakrzewski's body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monsuta's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Monsuta seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Monsuta feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Monsuta creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Zakrzewski sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Zakrzewski seems a little lost for a moment, as Monsuta dominates the positioning.

Monsuta is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zakrzewski knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Monsuta swings around for an armbar but Zakrzewski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Monsuta's guard.

Monsuta has his feet on Zakrzewski's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Monsuta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Monsuta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Monsuta decides to stand up, so the ref orders Zakrzewski to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Monsuta kicks Zakrzewski off and gets to his feet.

Monsuta gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Monsuta stops a takedown attempt from Zakrzewski.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Monsuta thows a huge punch but Zakrzewski dodges it nicely.

Monsuta bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Zakrzewski bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Monsuta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Zakrzewski to the ground. Monsuta is now in Zakrzewski's guard.
Zakrzewski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Monsuta is looking to work some ground and pound but Zakrzewski has wrist control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Monsuta has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
