PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Corner Cutting (ranked 4115 p4p, 4444 weight class) and Mike Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 548 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Corner Cutting!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Duncan forces Cutting back against the cage and clinches.
Duncan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cutting is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Duncan breaks from the clinch.
Duncan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cutting avoids it really well and circles away.
Duncan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cutting.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cutting swats away the attempt to clinch by Duncan.
Duncan slaps away a takedown attempt from Cutting, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Duncan moves into the clinch.
Cutting tries to break free but Duncan pushes him back against the cage.
Cutting prevents the takedown attempt.
Corner Cutting has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Duncan.
Cutting tries to score a body lock takedown but Duncan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Duncan has clasped his hands together around Cutting's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cutting is looking for a sweep.
Cutting is working hard here to advance position.
You can see the frustration on Cutting's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Cutting tries to bench press Duncan off him but Duncan keeps the position.
Duncan lands some shots froms side control.
The strikes coming from Duncan are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Duncan is looking to take a break and control but Cutting is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Duncan throws an elbow but Cutting slips to the side and avoids it well.
Cutting wants to control but Duncan postures up.
Duncan just content to control the position.
Cutting tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Duncan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Duncan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cutting is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Duncan working the ground and pound.
Cutting throws an elbow that doesn't really do any damage.
Cutting is trying to buck Duncan off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cutting manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Cutting trying to control from half guard but Duncan is working away.
Cutting prevents Duncan from improving his position.
Duncan is trying to stand back up but Cutting is controlling him

Cutting thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Duncan is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cutting scores with a couple of nice shots.
Duncan has his hands clasped together around Cutting's back. He's all about the action.
Cutting content to control rather than advance.
Duncan looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Duncan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Cutting dives in for a single leg takedown but Duncan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Duncan is trying to trip Cutting. He has hold of a leg but Cutting is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Duncan persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Duncan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Cutting looking for a guillotine here but Duncan defends easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duncan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cutting working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duncan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duncan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cutting is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Duncan is aware though and is defending well.

Cutting looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Duncan is defending well. Cutting quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Duncan has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Cutting celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Corner Cutting!
After the fight, Corner Cutting was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
