PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sss Sss (ranked 24932 p4p, 24931 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Fighter A looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Fighter B fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fighter B looks for a takedown but Fighter A sprawls well.
Fighter A jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter B shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fighter A manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter B being controlled here momentarily.
Fighter A throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Fighter A has his hands on Fighter B's head, controlling the position.
Fighter B trying to control but Fighter A is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fighter A is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Fighter B trying to control but Fighter A is working from the bottom.
Fighter A seems keen to control Fighter B's posture.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fighter A drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fighter B is pushing Fighter A's head away, looking to escape. Fighter A manages to hold on to the position though.
Fighter A slows the pace down.
Fighter A seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fighter B for as long as he can get away with.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B is trying to buck Fighter A off.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sss Sss will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Horrible takedown attempt by Fighter B or perhaps it was just good defense by Fighter A, which made it look bad.
Fighter A is looking to counter with a body kick.
Fighter A shoots for a double leg takedown but Fighter B sprawls well. He's pushed Fighter A's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fighter B steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fighter A is defended easily by Fighter B.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter A sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fighter B somewhat.
And Fighter A counters with a quick kick to the body but Fighter B blocks it.
Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown but Fighter B manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fighter A's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Fighter B counters with a body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sss Sss. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fighter A as he avoids it easily.

Fighter A changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fighter B looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B seems a little lost for a moment, as Fighter A dominates the positioning.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Fighter A.
Fighter A continues to stall.
Fighter B is trying to buck Fighter A off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B is being controlled here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fighter A shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fighter B defends it nicely.
Fighter B feints the counter takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Fighter A shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fighter B's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fighter B has his hands on Fighter A's head, controlling the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown but Fighter B manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fighter A's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fighter A closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fighter B's guard.
Fighter A is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fighter A with a nice head shot there.
Fighter A is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fighter B can do to turn this around?

Fighter A not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Fighter B is looking to stand up but Fighter A isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fighter A landing with the ground and pound.
Fighter B avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fighter A throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fighter B's waist but Fighter B gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fighter A off to one side.
Fighter A stuffs the takedown attempt from Fighter B. Fighter B gets slowly back to his feet.
Fighter A with a poor takedown
and Fighter B counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sss Sss. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Fighter B with that takedown attempt.
It looked like Fighter A was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A dives in for a single leg takedown but Fighter B sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Fighter B has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Fighter B pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fighter A darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Fighter B manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fighter A as he avoids it easily.
Fighter A quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Sss Sss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sss Sss is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown but Fighter A shows good takedown defense.
And Fighter A counters with a quick kick to the body but Fighter B blocks it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B shoots in but no luck this time.
Fighter A is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sss Sss.
Well Fighter A has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
