Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan King (ranked 4631 p4p, 2124 weight class) and Kataro Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kataro Kimura is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kataro Kimura!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
King is looking to clinch.
King shoots for a double leg takedown but Kimura sprawls well. He's pushed King's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet.

Kimura shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. King manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
King is trying to hold Kimura in close to prevent damage but Kimura has managed to pass into half guard.
King wants to control but Kimura is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kimura looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King is looking to get back to full guard here but Kimura has managed to pass to side control instead.

King tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Kimura controlling his opponent.
Kimura avoids the attempt from King to control.
King is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
King really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
King tries to hold on but Kimura postures up.
Kimura content just to control the position here.
King is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
King flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Kimura tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

King tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kimura content just to control the position here.
King keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kimura avoids the attempt from King to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
King is working to get back to half guard.
King is working hard here to advance position.
King tries to hold on but Kimura pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kataro Kimura dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Horrible takedown attempt by Kimura or perhaps it was just good defense by King, which made it look bad.
King wants to clinch up but Kimura keeps it at a distance.
King lands a high kick!

It looks like Kataro Kimura has been cut.
King lands a head kick!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kimura.
King fails with the takedown.
Kimura dives in for a single leg takedown but King sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jonathan King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kataro Kimura.
Kimura swats away the attempt to clinch by King.
Jonathan King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kimura avoids the head kick by King.
King looks to land a combination but Kimura avoids it well.

Kimura closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. King quickly recovers to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kimura perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Kimura is pressing down on King's thigh, looking to free his foot. King is holding on for now.
Kimura is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

King is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
King bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Kimura has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
King throwing strikes from guard but Kimura blocks nicely.
King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kimura is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea.
King trying to control but Kimura is working from the bottom.
Kimura is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst King is controlling him.

Kimura is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
King wants to control from the top but Kimura keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Kimura shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and King counters with a series of strikes. Kimura will be more careful next time no doubt.
King fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kimura drops down looking to force a counter takedown but King defends it well.
Kimura shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has King pinned against the cage. King gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kimura shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.
King tries to close the distance and clinch but Kimura swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kataro Kimura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kimura shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice body kick there by King.
Kimura shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Kimura's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
King tries to counter by clinching up but Kimura breaks away and moves out of range.
King tries to clinch there but Kimura circles away.
Jonathan King is winning the standup battle so far.

Kimura feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

King looking for subs off his back but Kimura has passed one foot through into half guard.
King tries to get to full guard but Kimura has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Kimura manages to pass to mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kimura takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan King dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Kataro Kimura's cut.
That's time! King's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Nice sprawl there from King as Kimura shoots in.
King stuffs the takedown attempt from Kimura. Kimura gets slowly back to his feet.
King scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
King moves in looking to clinch but Kimura pushes him off.
King fails with the takedown.
King misses with a head kick.
King connects with an inside leg kick.
Kimura dives in for a single leg takedown but King sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jonathan King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kataro Kimura.
King throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kimura.
The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kimura drops down looking to force a counter takedown but King defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimura takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kimura fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging King to the ground. Kimura is now in King's guard.
King is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kimura dives into side control.

King is trying to escape the position but Kimura is controlling the position.

King throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
King struggling a bit here.
King is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
King can't do much from the bottom here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kimura tries to advance to mount but King denies him.
Kimura has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Kimura takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

King doing his best to control the position. Can he escape?
King is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
King wants to hold on but Kimura pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
King sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kimura has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
King wants to control but Kimura is having none of it.
Kimura looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Let's hope that Kimura has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jonathan King.
I think King has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
