Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitorio Santos (ranked 3537 p4p, 5065 weight class) and Bruno Souppe (ranked 466 p4p, 604 weight class). Bruno Souppe will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Souppe clinches up against the cage.
Santos wants to break free but Souppe has control.
Souppe has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Santos after a bit of a struggle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santos lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Souppe can't keep his opponent in guard - Santos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Santos is pressing down on Souppe's thigh, looking to free his foot. Souppe is holding on for now.

Souppe wants to control but Santos is keeping busy.

Souppe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Santos's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Santos's back!
Souppe is trying to stick to Santos's back but Santos is turning into Souppe. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Souppe's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Santos.
Souppe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souppe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Santos paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Souppe - great work!
