Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikai Rosario (ranked 6720 p4p, 5806 weight class) and Jaakoppi Niskala (ranked 719 p4p, 648 weight class). Jaakoppi Niskala struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Mikai Rosario has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rosario tries to clinch

Rosario goes for a double leg but Niskala avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Niskala continues to drive forward.

Rosario fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Niskala, pushing him back against the cage.

Rosario might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rosario is looking to stand up but Niskala isn't so interested in that idea.
Rosario can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Niskala controls the pace.
Niskala won't allow Rosario to sweep him here.

Niskala wants to get up but he can't break Rosario's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rosario has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Niskala is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rosario.
