Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Coryatt (ranked 1154 p4p, 935 weight class) and Shinnosuke Nakagawa (ranked 178 p4p, 144 weight class). Coryatt comes to the cage accompanied by Slim Thug - Welcome 2 Houston. Nakagawa has chosen Koto - CloZee as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Coryatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shinnosuke Nakagawa!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ben Hemmingworth and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Coryatt. Those never looked like landing.
Nakagawa looks to land a right hand but Coryatt moved out of range.
Chris Coryatt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coryatt scores with the left hand. Nakagawa knows he should have avoided that one.
Nakagawa swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A left lands for Coryatt.

Coryatt drops Nakagawa with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nakagawa looks back up at him and smiles so Coryatt waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Nakagawa is rocked!
Coryatt has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Primal Concrete Gym in the buildup to the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nakagawa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Coryatt. Coryatt obviously looking to wear him down.
Coryatt slips under a jab.
A little feinted left hand from Coryatt on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Nakagawa fails with an attempt to clinch.
A clash of legs there as Nakagawa blocks the low kick.
Nakagawa moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Coryatt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nakagawa is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Nakagawa counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nakagawa thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Nakagawa with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Nakagawa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coryatt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nakagawa.
Coryatt looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Coryatt tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Nakagawa manages to move to mount!
Coryatt trying desperately to get to his feet.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Nakagawa working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Coryatt really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Nakagawa looking to finish Coryatt with some ground and pound. This is bad for Coryatt!
Nakagawa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nakagawa cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Nakagawa content just to control the position here.
Coryatt is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Coryatt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakagawa on the ground.

Nakagawa won't let Coryatt get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Oh Coryatt is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nakagawa wants to control the pace but Coryatt is squirming around nicely.
Nakagawa lands a big elbow - Coryatt is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Coryatt is forced to tap out!

An out of breath Shinnosuke Nakagawa thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
