The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shima tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wrecks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Wrecks wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Shima misses with a right hand
and Wrecks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Hero Shima has been cut.
Wrecks falls off balance throwing a combination
and Shima connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wrecks steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shima.
Wrecks jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Wrecks scores with a jab to the body.
Wrecks works Shima's body with a nice hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wrecks pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shima is out of range and Wrecks settles back down.
Shima cracks Wrecks with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Shima has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Shima tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wrecks was well out of range. Poor timing from Shima.

Shima uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wrecks has time to react.

Shima might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

A little jabbing left from Shima on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Nice straight punches there by Shima. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shima.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shima. Wrecks does a little dance to reset his feet.

Shima throws a lazy right hand but Wrecks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Wrecks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shima.
Shima keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wrecks.
Shima moves out of range as Wrecks throws a body kick.
Shima swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shima loads up on a big right hand but Wrecks slips the punch.
Wrecks takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wrecks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shima.
Shima swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wrecks looks to land a left hand but Shima moved out of range nicely.
Shima is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wrecks.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

and Wrecks makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Shima sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Wrecks is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Shima is breathing heavily.
Wrecks throws a quick inside leg kick.

and Wrecks counters with a stiff right hand.

That has opened up Hero Shima's cut even more.

Wrecks moves away from the strike by Shima.
Shima cracks Wrecks with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Shima sizes up Wrecks with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Wrecks punishes Shima's body with a nice straight punch.
Wrecks lands a brutal head kick. Shima looks out on his feet and Wrecks throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
